looks like the pope is finally going to snuff it tonight [unless it's all an april fool's trick and he's really cartwheeeling round the vatican as i write].
apparently most of the catholic world is praying for the pontiff in these, his final hours. so, in the spirit of ecumenical harmony – and bearing in mind how this “great man” spent most of his life reinforcing the doctrines that abortion was evil, contraception was evil, homosexuality was evil and pretty much anything that wasn’t reactionary and rightwing was evil - i’d like to offer up the following prayer myself:
i hope that
at the moment of death
even if only for a nanosecond
you suddenly become aware of
the eternal emptiness and blackness before you
and realise
your whole life was a lie
now fuck off and die, you mad senile oul’ cunt!
