well, today i added a tiny class definition in movable type‘s stylesheet and it completely and utterly fucked up the whole layout of the site – even tho’ there was absolutely nothing wrong with the CSS. i spent [or should that be 'wasted'] practically the whole of the day downloading and re-installing movable type to no avail – other than re-awakening the memories of what a cunt it was to install in the first place.
finally, i decided i could take no more and so i’ve downloaded and installed wordpress which, while it may not be as sophisticated and refined as MT, is based on PHP [so i should be able to tinker with the code] – plus, it installed in a mere three clicks and also imported my MT backup in two more clicks without a problem.
now all i have to do is work out how to customise the look of this baby tomorrow, and then i’ll only have wasted two days out of my life to get back to where i was in the first place!
