MT 3,1,1 – buggy or not?

since i upgraded bilge – sook my stupid brain to movable type version 3,1,1 i’ve noticed that i’m getting loads of error messages when doing my ‘admin behind-the-scenes stuff’. the funny thing is that although these errors get thrown up at regular intervals, all the blog functions seem to work perfectly. maybe i should be thankful for small mercies, ignore them and just file it under ‘annoying but not life-threatening’ but i’d like to get to the bottom of it. here is a typical example; an error which i got after doing a rebuild following the addition of a new category. very doom-laden sounding, but the category was created OK, so what’s going on?

Unmatched right curly bracket at extlib/DateTime/LocaleCatalog.pm line 26, within string syntax error at extlib/DateTime/LocaleCatalog.pm line 26, near “}” Compilation failed in require at extlib/DateTime/Locale.pm line 5. Compilation failed in require at lib/MT/Template/Context.pm line 1424.

…and the following pops up every time i try to post an article – even tho’, again, the article does actually publish without a hitch…

I’m getting the following error whenever I try to rebuild my indexes:

Params/Validate.pm did not return a true value at extlib/DateTime/Duration.pm line 5. BEGIN failed–compilation aborted at extlib/DateTime/Duration.pm line 5. Compilation failed in require at extlib/DateTime.pm line 46. BEGIN failed–compilation aborted at extlib/DateTime.pm line 46. Compilation failed in require at lib/MT/Template/Context.pm line 1425.

There are no problems eleswhere so I ignored it until I realised that my trackbacks and pings aren’t working at all!

Any help would be much appreciated!

the only help i can offer is to suggest you do what i did – scrap MT and try WordPress instead. it’s a lot less hassle!
